PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce friction between members when a sewing pitch is switched.SOLUTION: A feed adjusting mechanism of a sewing machine includes: a rotating body 86 for changing a sewing pitch; first and second cam members 78 and 79 for varying the rotational angle of the rotating body; first and second operation members 76 and 77 for setting the rotational angles of the respective first and second cam members; and a pitch switching actuator 80 which rotationally operates the second cam member to switch the states of contact of respective cam parts 781 and 791 with respective contact parts 731 and 741. The cam parts are formed such that respective forward feed adjusting parts 785 and 795 each for adjusting a forward feed pitch are arranged opposite to respective reverse feed adjusting parts 786 and 796 each for adjusting a reverse feed pitch while respective neutral positions 784 and 794, where the sewing pitch is set to 0, are interposed therebetween. The feed adjusting mechanism of a sewing machine further includes a direction switching actuator 81 which moves the contact parts between the respective forward feed adjusting parts and the respective reverse feed adjusting parts to switch a feed direction from a forward feed direction to a reverse feed direction and vice versa. When the operation of the pitch switching actuator is started, the direction switching actuator is controlled to be driven within a range where a sewing direction is not switched. |
