PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deterioration in the accuracy of acquiring digital watermark data due to compression of video.SOLUTION: A video display device comprises: a video reception unit that receives video; an auxiliary data reception unit that receives auxiliary data; a digital watermark embedding unit that embeds the auxiliary data in the video as a digital watermark; and a display unit that displays the video in which the digital watermark is embedded.
