PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water pump allowing a flow rate to be variable without depending on an operating state of an engine.SOLUTION: A water pump 1 includes: a pulley 2 and a gear carrier 4 to which rotation is transmitted from a crankshaft of an engine; a first helical gear 41 moving in a thrust direction s when rotating and connecting the pulley 2 and the gear carrier 4 with an output shaft 6; a second helical gear 42 for transmitting, with the first helical gear 41, the rotation of the pulley 2 and the gear carrier 4 to the output shaft 6 with which an impeller 5 is connected; and a mechanism including a first spur gear 44, a second spur gear 45, a third spur gear 46, and a motor 7 to apply force toward an anti-thrust direction to the first helical gear 41 during operation. |
