In order to secure a working space and increase the compactness of a wire electrode recovery box by collecting eliminated wire electrodes in a manner so as to be collected in a small result, this wire electrode elimination device is configured provided with: a wire electrode guide means (10) that guides the severing-point-side end of a wire electrode (1) severed by a wire electrode severing device (7, 8) out of a travel path; a reel-in shaft (16) that, by means of the end surface thereof, presses/immobilizes the cutting-point side wire electrode guided by the wire electrode guide means (10), and then, along with rotational driving, reels in the wire electrode by means of a columnar member having a corner; a reel-in shaft driving means (19) that drives the reel-in shaft (16) to perform the pressing/immobilizing and pressing/elimination of the wire electrode by the reel-in shaft (16); a scraper member (20) that, during the reel-in shaft (16) pressing/elimination by means of the reel-in shaft driving means (19), removes the reeled in wire electrode by means of the columnar member; and a recovery member that recovers the removed wire electrode. |
