<p>A blood pressure meter (1) is provided with: an air bag (13) which is to be mounted to the part of a person at which blood pressure is to be measured; a pressure sensor (23); a pump (21) which adjusts inner pressure; a valve (22); drive circuits (26, 27) for both the pump (21) and the valve (22); a CPU (40) which is connected to the pressure sensor and the drive circuits, controls the adjustment of the inner pressure, and performs processing for calculating a blood pressure value on the basis of the change in the inner pressure which occurs during the adjustment; and a holding section (11) from which, and into which, fluid can flow into and out of the air bag and which has a smaller capacity than the fluid bag. When a predetermined pressure is applied to the holding section, the fluid can flow out of the holding section into the air bag. The CPU starts the adjustment of the inner pressure when a change in pressure within the air bag is a change specified in advance, the change in pressure within the air bag being detected by the pressure sensor before the start of the adjustment of the inner pressure.</p> |
