A multiprocessor system having a plurality of processor units (10-17) including a single type or plural types of processors, the system comprising:a clock supply unit (21) for supplying one of a plurality of clock frequencies as a system clock to each processor unit; a power supply unit (20) for supplying one of a plurality of voltages as a clock voltage to each processor unit; a local memory or cache memory (24), which is provided in each processor unit and is arranged to store data or commands; a shared memory (18) accessed from the plurality of processor units; and a local bus (19) for connecting the shared memory to the processor units; and a system control register (25), which is provided in each processor unit, for setting a system clock and a system voltage to be supplied to the processor and the local memory in the processor unit.
