摘要 PURPOSE: A device and a method for measuring optical activities using self-heterodyne detection are provided to measure an optical activity spectrum in a broadband ranged from a near ultraviolet ray area to a visible ray area. CONSTITUTION: A device for measuring optical activities comprises a light source unit(10), a polarization control unit(20), a polarization beam splitter(40), and a detection unit(50). The light source unit irradiates white light pulse signals. The polarization control unit generates incident lights including pump lights in a first polarization direction and reference lights in a second polarization direction by controlling the polarization of the white light pulse signals and makes the incident lights incident to a specimen having chiral properties. The polarization beam splitter separates the incident lights penetrated through the specimen into first components in the first polarization direction and second components in the second polarization direction. The detection unit measures the optical activities of the specimen by using the first and second components.
