<p>An image of pixels received over a radio network is processed to decide whether to discard the image from transmitting it to a target video application. At least one copy of a data block corresponding to a block of pixels in the image is received and potential erroneous pixels (PEPs) are determined 933. A weight for each PEP is calculated based on the position of the PEPs within the image. A reduced number of PEPs 935 is calculated as a function of a sum of the weights. A PEP counter is then incremented 935 by this reduced number of PEPs for the current block. In case the PEP counter exceeds a predetermined threshold, the image is discarded 939 from transmission to the target video application. The PEPs are preferably determined using a Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC) code and the weights may be determined by the proximity of a pixel to the edge of the image. Optionally, if the threshold is not exceeded, the data block is reconstructed 937 using pixels neighbouring the PEPs.</p> |
