PURPOSE: A device for detecting and checking damages of a wire rope is provided to easily analyze causes of the damaged wire rope, thereby reducing the waste of resources and preventing damage to equipment and casualties. CONSTITUTION: A device for detecting and checking damages of a wire rope includes a detection unit (100) and a central management unit (200). The detection unit, which is operated according to remote control signals, detects the existence of damages of a wire rope and photographs the damaged portion, thereby wirelessly transmitting to the central management unit. The central management unit wirelessly transmits the remote control signals for controlling the operation of the detection unit; receives detection signals and image signals of the wire rope transmitted from the detection unit; and rises the alarm for informing the result of detecting the damages of the wire rope or transmits a message to a preset portable terminal of an administrator while storing and displaying the received detection signals and image signals.
