The connector has a borehole (6) provided on a front side (4) of a longitudinal body (2) facing an auxiliary module. A grip projection engages into the borehole and is provided on a side of the auxiliary module that faces a main module. A metal pin (7) is provided at a front side (5) of the body facing the main module and engages into the borehole provided on a side of a protective switch unit facing the auxiliary module. The longitudinal body is made from plastic parts. An independent claim is also included for a switching device with a main module, auxiliary module and a grip connector.
