A roll cage or roll container, as typically used in supermarkets and retail outlets, comprises a base which can be hinged into an upright position so that two or more cages may be nested together, where the base is held in the upright position by a magnetic force. One or more magnets 1 may be embedded in the base of the cage, said magnets being brought into contact with steel plates on the sides of the cage. Alternatively, the magnets may be located on the side of the cage and the steel base, or a piece of steel on a non-metallic base, may be brought into contact with the magnets. The magnets may comprise sintered aniso ferrite blocks. |
