An apparatus for modification or treatment of a structural part in manufacturing is described. The apparatus comprises an automatic guided vehicle 10 adapted to move by detecting a predetermined path13 and steering the vehicle to move along the predetermined path. A portal 12 is mounted on the automatic guided vehicle such that a structural part 11 passes through the portal when the vehicle moves along the predetermined path. One or more tools (21, figure 2) are mounted on the portal to modify or treat the structural part as the vehicle moves along the predetermined path. The structural part may be part or a whole of a wind turbine blade, and the tool(s) may apply adhesive to it. Guide means may also be provided so that the structural part is modified or treated at predetermined points or along a path. A method of using such apparatus, possibly with a plurality of structural parts, is also described. |
