PURPOSE: A low power consuming power outlet for blocking standby power using infrared signals is provided to turn off a contact portion by allowing a standby power diagnosis module to inactivate a relay switch when utilization equipment is placed in a standby mode. CONSTITUTION: If a light receiving module (100) is turn on, a relay switch (600) is applied with a power voltage in order to turn on a contact portion (300). When the contact portion is turned on, a thyristor of a standby power diagnosis module (400) is applied with power so that the relay switch is electrified. A sensing controller (400a) of the standby power diagnosis module senses an amount of current in a power line by receiving a signal from a current sensor (300), and sends out a control signal according to the sensed amount of current in order to turn on or off the thyristor.
