<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve usability by easily determining a user without making the user himself/herself conscious of authentication. <P>SOLUTION: In clustering 3, a first likelihood is calculated, which represents a probability that a feature quantity vector extracted from a volume pulse wave of a determination object user and feature quantity vectors of Kt users stored in a user database 4 appear under a mixed normal distribution model comprising Kt normal distributions. A second likelihood is also calculated in the same manner, which represents a probability that the feature quantity vectors appear under a mixed normal distribution model comprising Kt+1 normal distributions. Then, the first likelihood is compared with the second likelihood, the determination object user is determined as a user who has been already stored when the first likelihood is larger, while the determination object user is determined as a new user who has not been stored yet and the feature quantity vector is additionally stored in the user database 4 unless the first likelihood is larger. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
