The invention relates to agriculture, in particular to methods for determination of drought-resistant genotypes of tomato.The method, according to the invention, includes the collection of fully opened flowers of each genotype, separation of pollen from anthers, division of pollen into two fractions, the control fraction is placed on a dry slide plate and the second experimental fraction is placed on a slide plate in a drop of 85% sorbitol solution, for 2 hours, then, under a microscope, is determined the size of pollen grains using an ocular micrometer in the control and experimental fractions, afterwards is determined the ratio of pollen grain sizes of the control and experimental fractions, expressed in percentage, at the same time the higher this ratio, the more resistant to drought is the genotype. |
