PURPOSE: A safety device for a gas range is provided to shut off gas supplied from a power circuit part to an electric valve by detecting temperature with a sensor installed in the center of a gas ignition port. CONSTITUTION: In a safety device for a gas range, a thermocouple sensor (1) is attached to a ventilation protector (2) and is supported by a support (5) using a spring (3). When the temperature of utensils is drastically decreased within 190-230 degree, the signal wiring of the sensor sends signals to a circuit power part (10) having an alarm, a lamp, and a return switch. The safety device shuts off gas by controlling the circuit power part to operate an electric shutoff valve (20) installed in the middle of a gas inflow pipe.
