TRANSPORT METHOD FOR SCALABLE ULTRA HIGH DEFINITION VIDEO SERVICE OVER HYBRID DELIVERY ENVIRONMENT

PURPOSE: A transmission/reception method of program configuration information for a scalable ultra-high definition (UHD) video service in a hybrid transmission environment is provided to add a program map table (PMT) to MPEG-2 transport stream (TS) and insert transmission channel information and configuration information about transmitted media into the added PMT. CONSTITUTION: An MPEG-2 system generates a base layer packet (240) containing a base layer and an enhanced layer packet (250) containing at least one enhanced layer from a scalable UHD video coding bit stream containing the base layer and at least one enhanced layer based on MPEG-2 TS or MPEG media transport (MMT). The MPEG-2 system generates a PMT (230) which is program configuration information for the base layer packet and enhanced layer packet, inserts the generated program configuration information into the base layer packet, and transmits the packets to a receiving end through a broadcasting network.
