PURPOSE: A treadmill capable of controlling torque and start speed is provided to have advantage of strengthening safety and contributing to the convenience of the user as the driving motor is controlled by the start speed of treadmill. CONSTITUTION: A treadmill capable of controlling torque and start speed comprises a driving motor (130), a tract unit rotating by the driving motor, and a control unit controlling the driving motor. The control unit comprises an inverter part (140) for driving the driving motor, a console part (120) for generating the control signal for control of the inverter part, and a memory part (125) stores the start speed of the driving motor. The start speed data which is pre-stored in the memory part or modified by the operation of user is called from the console part and transmitted to the inverter part. The transmitted start speed data from the inverter part is operated and the driving voltage of predetermined frequency is supplied to the driving motor so that start speed is controlled. The above driving motor is flexibly controlled by checking real-time load amount.
