The invention relates to a method for separating, concentrating and/or purifying a (blood) plasma protein or viral component from a mixture which comprises said (blood) plasma protein or the viral component, where the mixture comprising the (blood) plasma protein or the viral component is natural human or animal blood or an intermediate or finished natural human or animal blood product, in particular blood plasma or proteinaceous precipitate obtained from blood plasma by a fractionation method. Said process comprises a chromatography step, a filtration via a chromatographic material and a virus inactivation step. The sorbents used for the chromatography and the filtration are in each case solid carriers whose surfaces are functionalized with at least two receptor molecules. In particular, the invention relates to an improved process for the purification of IgG type (blood) plasma proteins from human plasma.
