FIELD: medicine.SUBSTANCE: method for prediction of the clinical course of neonatal hepatitis in infants by assessing the biochemical values, additionally involves examining infants' blood serum for the concentration of acute phase proteins: Ultra-sensitive C-reactive protein (u/s CRP), alpha-I antitrypsin (alpha1-AT) and alpha-2-macroglobulin (alpha-2-MG), and if the concentration of u/s CRP falls within the range of 0.3 to 0.9 mg/l, of alpha1-AT - within the range of 145.0 to 210 mg/dl and of alpha2-MG within the range of 200.0 to 260.0 mg/dl, a mild clinical course is predicted; the concentration of u/s CRP within the range of 2.0 to 6.0 mg/l, of alpha1-AT more than 240 mg/dl, of alpha2-MG more than 290 mg/dl, a severe clinical course is predicted. Sensitivity and specificity of the presented method for prediction make 90.5% and 79.3%, respectively.EFFECT: higher prediction accuracy of the clinical course of neonatal hepatitis in infants.1 tbl, 4 ex |
