594485 Disclosed herein is the use of SGLT2 inhibitor 1-chloro-4-(?-D-glucopyranos-1-yl)-2-[4-((S)-tetrahydrofuran-3-yloxy)-benzyl]-benzene for the manufacture of a medicament for reducing body fat or preventing an increase in body fat, or facilitating a reduction in body fat, in a patient in need thereof. Specifically wherein the patient is an individual diagnosed of one or more of the conditions selected from the group consisting of overweight, obesity, visceral obesity and abdominal obesity.
