596927 Disclosed is a blind guide work contact tip (10) for mounting to a drive probe (26) of a fastening tool, such as a combustion nailer. The blind guide work contact tip is a one piece attachment which is fitted around the existing drive probe. The blind guide work contact tip includes a body (18) and two wings (12) which extend therefrom forming a channel (16) through which a fastener passes into the workpiece. The body has a work surface (64) with a peak and sloped slides adjacent each side of the peak at approximately 45 degrees. This shape allows for an angled nail placement, such as 45 degrees into a workpiece. The thickness of the body makes up between 55%-65% of the total length of the blind guide work contact tip. The work contact tip also has a flat portion at the peak of the work surface so as to not inhibit face nailing.
