The machine (20) has a heating device comprising two heating bars (70, 71). A suspension system (76) provides a connection between one of the bars and a frame (24). A detection and ejection system (90) comprises a sensor (91) for detecting vertical displacement of the bars on the suspension system when a foreign object is introduced between the bars. A control unit (115) controls a motor (130) in a rotation direction opposite to another rotation direction of the motor for guiding a sachet towards a closure to allow ejection of the sachet when the sensor detects the vertical displacement. An independent claim is also included for a method for detection and ejection of a foreign object introduced inside a thermo-welding machine.
