PURPOSE: An underwater communication apparatus and a method thereof are provided to transmit data without distortion using the light with a wavelength of 450-500 nm. CONSTITUTION: A current control unit (120) converts first data to be transmitted to an external device into first current. An optical transmitter (110) transmits the light with a wavelength of 450-500 nm into the external device. The light corresponds to the converted first current. The first data includes one or more data among image data, voice data, and text data. A data transmitter transmits the first data to the current control unit. The data transmitter comprises one or more among a mike, a camera, a text input device, a body information collection device, and an environmental information collection device.
