The device has a set of cylindrical stages (1a-1e) slidably and successively mounted with each other according to a compression axis (X). Each stage includes a pair of plates connected with each other by a group of spacers that is distributed around the compression axis. One of the spacers of one of the stages co-operates with another spacer of the adjacent stage to carry out a sliding guide relative to the stages according to the axis. An elastic unit (30) i.e. spring, extends between the stages to generate internal effort, which tends to move the stages.
