PURPOSE: A control screen method of an image display device and an apparatus thereof are provided to easily confirm the content of a main screen without on/off operation of a sub screen even though a part of the main screen is hidden. CONSTITUTION: If a sub screen is outputted, a control unit confirms the location of a pointer corresponding to a user control signal (204,206). In case there is the pointer within the sub screen, the control unit makes the sub screen be transparent or be moved to the outside of a main screen (208,210). In case there is not the pointer inside the sub screen, the control unit determines whether to input a dragging signal of the pointer (212). The control unit makes the sub screen be moved to a location where the pointer is dragged (214).
