PURPOSE: Musical instrument having a pedal and a method for the same are provided to record and/or reproduce the location of a control member in which a relative location is changed for a sounding body according to the operation of the pedal. CONSTITUTION: A driven member is displaced by interlocking the displacement of a pedal. A control member changes a relative location for the sound body according to the displacement of the driven member for controlling the sounding body. A driving unit drives the driven member. A first output unit (1021) obtains a pedal location corresponding to the location of the driven member detected from a sensor (555) from first database (1001) and a control value corresponding to the obtained pedal location from second database (1002) and outputs the control value as pedal operation information.
