METHOD OF PREPARING MULTIPURPOSE MONODISPERSE HOLLOW MESOPOROUS SILICA PARTICLES

PURPOSE: A method for preparing multipurpose mono-dispersed hollow mesoporous silica particles is provided to increase the surface area and material properties of mesoporous silica particles using polystyrene as a core, a precursor, and a surfactant. CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing multipurpose mono-dispersed hollow mesoporous silica particles comprises the steps of: dispersing polystyrene and a surfactant with a solvent in a reactor; stirring a precursor with the dispersed product in order to prepare porous silica particles in a core-shell structure; and removing polystyrene from the silica particles. The surfactant is hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide. The precursor is tetraethyl orthosilicate. Hollow titanium nanoparticles prepared by the preparing process are used as a support.
