PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing apparatus able to change the state of a nip without complicating an electric system that supplies electricity to a heater (heating element).SOLUTION: The fixing apparatus 100 comprises: a cylindrical fixing film 110; the heating element (halogen lamp 120) arranged inside the fixing film 110; a nip member (nip plate 130) arranged so as to be in slide contact with the inside surface of the fixing film 110 and receiving radiation heat from the heating element; a backup member (pressure roller 150) configured to form a nip between the fixing film 110 and the member itself by sandwiching the fixing film 110 between the nip member and the backup member; a first support member (guide member 170) supporting the nip member; and a second support member (fixing frame 180) supporting the heating element and also supporting the first support member movably such that the nip member is moved with respect to the backup member and heating element. |
