摘要 This invention is provided with: a laser oscillator (1) for oscillating laser light so that the output is variable according to machining conditions; an optical fiber (2) for allowing the laser light to propagate; a sensor (7) for detecting the intensity of light leaking from the side surface of the clad (2b) of the optical fiber (2) and outputting a detection signal (SN1) indicating the intensity; and an oscillation controller (HS) for controlling the action of the laser machining device (51) on the basis of the detection signal (SN1). When the output of the laser oscillator (1) is equal to or less than a predetermined output, the oscillation controller (HS) compares a first threshold value (HK2) set in accordance with said output and the intensity or amount of light obtained from the detection signal (SN1). When the output of the laser oscillator (1) is higher than the predetermined output, the oscillation controller (HS) compares a second threshold value (LK2) set in accordance with said output and the intensity or amount of light obtained from the detection signal (SN1). The oscillation controller (HS) controls the action of the laser machining device (51) on the basis of the comparison result.
