PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image quality evaluation device, a control method thereof, and a program capable of efficiently calculating an evaluation value having high correlation with a subjective evaluation.SOLUTION: An autocorrelation coefficient to three dimensions defined in a horizontal direction, a vertical direction, and a time direction of moving image data to be evaluated is acquired. Frequency analysis for the autocorrelation coefficient to the three dimensions is performed, and a resulted frequency analysis is multiplied by visual response function indicating visual characteristics of spatial frequency or time frequency so that a plurality of noise amount are calculated. A product of the calculated plurality of noise amounts are calculated as a moving image noise evaluation value of the moving image data to be evaluated. |
