PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phosphor of a new composition having a wide half-value width of emission peaks, and emitting light ranging yellow to orange.SOLUTION: This phosphor contains alkaline earth metal elements essentially including Ba, tetra-valent metal elements essentially including Si, tri-valent metal elements essentially including Al, a nitrogen element, an oxygen element and Eu and/or Ce, where the phosphor comprises a crystal phase satisfying specific conditions of diffraction peaks observed in a range of 2&thetas;=7.000° to 28.016° in the powder X-ray pattern measurement. |
