PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus and a processing unit capable of ensuring the quality of coating on a recording sheet coating-processed by a coating section while reducing the transportation time of the recording sheet formed with images.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 100, 100A and a processing unit 70, 80 are configured to transport a recording sheet P at a first transportation speed until the tail end passes a first transportation position (P3) located at the upstream side than a coating section 60. The recording sheet is transported at a second transportation speed faster than the first transportation speed until the front end reaches a second transportation position (P4) located at the upstream side than the coating section 60 and the downstream side of the first transportation position. The recording sheet is transported at a third transportation speed slower than the second transportation speed until the tail end passes the coating section 60 (P6). The recording sheet is transported at a fourth transportation speed faster than the third transportation speed after the tail end passes the coating section 60 (P6). |
