PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rare earth-added alkaline earth metal silicate phosphor in which a rare earth Eu is added as an activator, emission wavelength of which exceeds 600 nm, half-value width thereof is small and color purity thereof is favorable; and a production method thereof.SOLUTION: There is disclosed a rare earth-activated alkaline earth metal silicate phosphor in which Eu is added as an activator to a composite oxide whose compositional formula is expressed by formula (1): [(SrCaMgEu)SiO] (wherein a, b, c, d and e satisfy a+b+c+d=1, and satisfy 0<a<0.7; 0<b<0.7; 0≤c<0.5; 0.012≤d<0.2 and 0.8≤e≤1.5). |
