The igniter (10) has a lance tube (12) which is provided with an ignition electrode (14). A connecting cable (20) is provided for connection to an igniter, and a connection device (22) is provided for connecting the cable to the ignition electrode. The connecting device is designed to be removable from the lance tube. The lance tube is screwed into the connection device. The connection device comprises housing with a feed-through electrode for current and voltage feed-through for the ignition electrode, and an insulator for isolation of feed-through electrode against the housing.
