The system has an access control device (6) comprising a storage device (12) for storing selected identification code of transponders (4.1, 4.2). A set of transmitting- or receiving devices (26.1, 26.2) transmits a request signal to another set of transmitting- or receiving devices (14) of the access control device in reaction on an operation of activation units (28.1, 28.2). The latter set of transmitting- or receiving devices transmits a release signal to the former set of transmitting- or receiving devices to release objects (20.1, 20.2) based on the code stored in the storage device. The transponders are designed as radio frequency identification (RFID) transponders. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling an access permission for a lockable object.
