SURGICAL STAPLING APPARATUS Abstract A surgical stapling apparatus (100), comprising: an end effector (106) having a first jaw (108) and a second jaw (110), the first jaw (108) being configured to receive a staple cartridge (112) and including a cartridge channel (128), the second jaw (110) having a plurality of staple forming recesses (156), the first jaw (108) and second jaw (110) being in contact at their respective first ends for parallel approximation and separation; the staple cartridge (112) having a tissue contacting surface and staple receiving slots (5131, 5132) defined in the tissue contacting surface for receiving a plurality of surgical staples (528) arranged in linear rows; and at least one pressure sensor (126) attached to a top surface of the cartridge channel (128). |
