PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide content usage control based on revocation approval by the host vendor.SOLUTION: An information storage device such as a memory card stores an encrypted content and a converted title key that is obtained by converting a title key to be used to decrypt the encrypted content, and generates a subkey for calculating the title key from the converted title key depending on the result of prescribed determination processing. The processing includes, for example, referring to a revocation list in which invalidation information of a host that carries out the replay of the content may be registered; executing signature validation processing on a host vendor's signature given for the host identifier (host ID) if the host identifier is included in the revocation list; and not generating the subkey if the signature verification processing is successful or generating the subkey if the signature verification processing is failed and outputting the subkey to the host.
