PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a torque converter which can mount a plate for canceling inside pressure through a simple process but in a definite supporting state while suppressing reduction in strength and increase in weight when the plate for canceling inside pressure to suppress the change in fastening force of a piston of a lockup clutch accompanying with the change in the inside pressure is to be disposed.SOLUTION: A torque converter includes a case 10 having a front cover 11 connected to an output shaft of an engine, and a lockup clutch 60 stored in the case 10. In the torque converter, between the front cover 11 and a piston 65 of the lockup clutch 60, an oil pressure chamber 2 to which oil pressure for fastening of the lockup clutch 60 is formed, while on the opposite side of the oil pressure chamber 2, in a space to the piston 65, a plate 50 for canceling inside pressure, which forms a chamber 6 for canceling inside pressure, is disposed. The plate 50 for canceling inside pressure is fixed to the member 40 at the side of the front cover, by welding from the axial direction. |
