PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To expand a color reproduction range of a process green hue and the like.SOLUTION: In a color separation processing method, color material recording amount data corresponding to the outermost shell representative point in a color reproduction range of an image recorder is allocated to a surface of a color space cube of a CMY input signal, and a CMYOG output signal is generated from the CMY input signal by using an interpolation arithmetic formula corresponding to the allocated color material recording amount data and an allocation position thereof. Single color solid data of a process color material, single color solid data on a HiFi color material and solid mixed color data of the HiFi color material and one process color material adjacent to the HiFi color material in terms of a color hue are allocated to a side of the highest saturation on a surface of the color space cube as the color material recording amount data corresponding to the outermost shell representative point in the color reproduction range in a hue order. The solid mixed color data of the two process color materials on both neighbors of the HiFi color material in terms of the hue are allocated to a position nearer to black than the side of the highest saturation on the surface of the color space cube. |
