Crushing malt using a grinding apparatus, comprises kibbling the malt using at least one grinding tool for producing whole-meal in multiple grinding steps, where the produced whole-meal exhibits varying fractions differing based on the particle size in the form a husk fraction, a coarse meal fraction, a fine meal-I fraction, a fine meal-II fraction, a meal flour fraction, and a powder meal fraction as determined according to Mebak Policy, and (b) reducing less than 45 mass% meal-I fraction and the meal-II fraction, respectively to the whole-meal during crushing. Independent claims are also included for: (1) the grinding apparatus, comprising at least one grinding tool for crushing the malt into whole-meal in at least one grinding step; (2) a whole-meal composition, obtained by crushing the malt using the above mentioned grinding apparatus, which includes the above mentioned varying fractions differing based on the particle size; (3) purify a mash that is prepared by the whole-meal composition, comprising supplying the mash to a lauter tub and purifying by discharging beer wort from the lauter tub; and (4) a beer, produced using the above mentioned whole-meal composition.
