PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small size zoom lens system, an imaging apparatus and a camera having a high zooming ratio of approximately 5 times and a large angle of view at wide angle end, which is satisfactorily applicable to wide-angle photography.SOLUTION: The zoom lens system includes, from the object side to the image side; a first lens group of a negative power; a second lens group of a positive power; and a third lens group of a positive power. The zoom lens system, the imaging apparatus, and the camera vary the magnification to perform zooming by shifting three or more lens groups along the optical axis and each of the lens groups has one or more lens elements satisfying a condition: 21<&ngr;d, 0.55<PgF, 0.000<PgF+0.0032×&ngr;d-0.705 and 0.000<PgF+0.0020×&ngr;d-0.664 (&ngr;d: Abbe number with respect to a d-line of the lens elements; PgF: partial dispersion ratio of a g-line and an F-line of the lens elements) and satisfy a condition: 3.85<Z×tan(ω)(Z=f/f, f, f: wide angle end, a focal length of the lens system at the telephoto end, ω: half angle of view at the wide angle end). |
