The invention relates to the field of metal forming and can be used for forging ingots and billets of various steels and alloys. A method of manufacturing forgings with fine-grained structure includes forging a heated blank in a four-die forging device on a forging press with two manipulators by simultaneous reduction by four dies with simultaneous twisting by manipulators of the blank sections. The temperature of blank is adjusted to the temperature from the range of not lower than the temperature of phase transformation and not above the temperature of beginning of the secondary recrystallization. During reduction the length of blank is maintained at a constant level by rigid fastening its ends in the manipulator, the distance L between which remains constant. The invention provides a microcrystalline including submicrocrystalline and nanocrystalline structure of metal forgings of large cross-section.
