PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a short circuit outside a secondary battery.SOLUTION: A battery system includes: a secondary battery (10, 11 or 12) for performing charge and discharge; a current sensor (41) for detecting a current value of the secondary battery; a voltage sensor (20) for detecting a voltage value of the secondary battery; a temperature sensor (42) for detecting temperature of the secondary battery; and a controller (30) for determining occurrence of a short circuit (external short circuit) outside the secondary battery. In the system, the controller changes a current threshold to a lower one as the temperature detected by the temperature sensor is lower. And the controller determines the occurrence of the external short circuit when a detected current value is higher than the current threshold after the change and the voltage value detected by the voltage sensor is lower than a voltage threshold. |
