Device for culturing cells, tissue cultures, and yeasts and bacteria as objects, comprises: a trough-shaped base body with at least one inlet and an outlet present in one of the sidewalls for connecting a reservoir containing culture medium (2); at least one barrier present in the base body; a plate-shaped carrier with at least one container (3) having a membrane for at least one object; and a cover with at least one septum. The inlet and the outlet are arranged such that the height of the barrier defines the height of the surface of the culture medium in the base body. The cover is removable from the base body. The inlet and the outlet are arranged such that the height of the barrier defines the height of the surface of the culture medium in the base body. The membrane of the container is arranged in the culture medium of the base body such that a bioreactor (1) is provided at least for connecting the reservoir containing a culture medium.
