The apparatus has a plunger (4) that is operatively connected to a rocker arm (3) of locking module (2). The plunger is moved in the longitudinal direction with respect to the movement of the rocker arm. A fixing device (6) is provided for fixing the rocker arm of respective locking module in a neutral position (N). The rocker arms are operatively connected together through a connector (8) such that movement of one rocker arm is set opposite to the movement of other rocker arm. An independent claim is included for method for adjusting distance between locking modules.
