PURPOSE: A fingerprint reading apparatus and a method thereof are provided to synthesize a guideline with an image collected from a photographing unit. CONSTITUTION: A finger size measurement unit (110) measures a finger size. A photographing unit (130) photographs an image of a subject. An image signal processing unit (140) deducts a guide indicator corresponding to the finger size from a storage unit. The image signal processing unit synthesizes the guide indicator with the image photographed to the photographing unit. A display unit (150) displays the guide indicator and the synthesized image.
