PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress annular protrusions protruding on an outer periphery of a honeycomb carrier from being damaged at a position of the tops on semicircles of case half bodies, and also suppress a holding member surrounding annular protrusions from biting in joint parts.SOLUTION: In a supporting structure of a honeycomb carrier 2 having the honeycomb carrier 2 having annular protrusions 21 making a round around an outer periphery and protruding an outer diameter direction, a seal mat 3 surrounding the annular protrusions 21, and a case 4 covering the honeycomb carrier 2, having an annular recesses 43 receiving the annular protrusions 21 and concaved in the outer diameter direction, and capable of being bisected on a periphery, and holding the annular protrusion 21 on the annular recesses 43 via the seal mat 3, a gap between and the annular protrusions 21 and the annular recesses 43 located at joint parts 46 jointing the case halves 41, 42 constituted by bisecting the case 4 at the tops 45 on the semicircles of the case halves 41, 42 is larger than in the other parts. |
