摘要 <p>Abstract A shifter apparatus (10) for manually changing gear ratio in a planetary gear transmission (12) is provided. The planetary gear transmission (12) is of the type which includes a plurality of actuators (18a, 18b, 18c, 18d), wherein the sequential actuation of the actuators (18a, 18b, 18c, 18d) progressively causes a change of gear ratio in the planetary gear transmission (12). The shifter apparatus (10) includes a housing (24) which includes a plurality of substantially horizontal tracks (26a, 26b, 26c, 26d). The tracks (26a, 26b, 26c, 26d) are arranged above one another. The tracks (26a, 26b, 26c, 26d) include openings (28a, 28b, 28c). Each opening (28a, 28b, 28c) provides a passage between adjacent tracks (26a, 26b, 26c, 26d). The openings (28a, 28b, 28c) are arranged adjacent alternating ends of the tracks (26a, 26b, 26c, 26d) when the tracks (26a, 26b, 26c, 26d) are considered sequentially from the uppermost track (26a) to the bottommost track (26d). Arranged in each track (26a, 26b, 26c, 26d) is a slider (22a, 22b, 22c, 22d). Each slider (22a, 22b, 22c, 22d) is connected to a respective one of the plurality of actuators (18a, 18b, 18c, 18d) by a linkage (20a, 20b, 20c, 20d). By moving a slider (22a) from one end of the respective track (26a) to the other causes the respective actuator (18a) to actuate. Each slider (22a, 22b, 22c, 22d) has a groove (42a, 42b, 42c, 42d). The groove (42a, 42b, 42c, 42d) is formed so as to align with an opening (28a, 28b, 28c) when the slider (22a, 22b, 22c, 22d) is positioned in the respective track (26a, 26b, 26c, 26d) adjacent the opening (28a, 28b, 28c). A lever (44) is arranged to be manually movable between two positions. The lever (44) is connected to a driving member (46). The driving member (46) includes a slider engaging portion (48). The slider engaging portion (48) is sized and arranged to be accommodated in the groove (42a) of an instant slider (22a). The slider engaging portion (48) drives the instant slider (22a) to move from one end of the respective track (26a) to the other when the lever (44) is moved between one position to the other position. When the groove (42a) of the instant slider (22a) is aligned with an opening (28a) to a lower adjacent track (26b), the slider engaging portion (48) falls through the opening (28a) and into the groove (42b) of the respective slider (22b) in the lower adjacent track (26b). From an initial arrangement, in which the slider engaging portion (48) is located in the groove (42a) of the uppermost slider (22a) and the uppermost slider (22a) is positioned in the respective uppermost track (26a) where the respective actuator (18a) is disengaged, alternately moving the lever (44) between the two positions causes each slider (22a, 22b, 22c, 22d) to sequentially move along the respective tracks (26a, 26b, 26c, 26d), from uppermost (26a) to bottommost (26d), and thereby sequentially actuate the plurality of actuators (18a, 18b, 18c, 18d).</p>
