PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor which, while achieving compactness, can detect gas by means of a novel structure.SOLUTION: In a gas sensor 1, conventional light absorption paths are unnecessary, enabling a correspondingly more compact gas sensor. Gas is absorbed by an ionic liquid IL, and the permittivity of the ionic liquid IL, which changes with gas absorption, can be measured by means of the change in light intensity resulting from the surface plasmon resonance phenomenon in a metal layer 7, and in this way, the gas sensor 1 having a novel structure and capable of detecting gas on the basis of change in light intensity is achieved. |
